DentalMonitoring from home
Weekly 60-second scans with your phone. Dr. Varble reviews each one personally and adjusts your plan in real time.
Spark Clear Aligners are nearly invisible, removable for meetings and meals, and monitored from home with a weekly phone scan, which means fewer trips to our office. The most discreet orthodontic option available, designed around the realities of adult life.
For adults, the biggest barrier to orthodontic treatment usually isn’t cost or time. It’s the idea of walking into a meeting, a presentation, or a wedding with traditional braces on.
Spark Clear Aligners are nearly invisible at conversational distance. Most coworkers, clients, and friends won’t notice you’re in treatment. By the time anyone does, your smile is already changing.
“Adults often delay treatment for years over the same concern. That nobody at work can know. Aligners solve that problem completely.”
— Dr. Zachary Varble
Aligners are removable, which means treatment doesn’t interrupt the parts of your life where you’d rather not be in treatment at all. Most adults thought about braces for years before they finally walked in. These are the moments that usually tip the decision.
Take them out for a big presentation or client lunch. Put them back in afterward. No one knows you have them.
Aligners come out to eat and drink anything other than water. No food restrictions. No coffee stains on brackets.
Family weddings, work headshots, milestone birthdays. Remove the aligners for the photo, no awkward smile dodging.
Aligners go with you. Weekly DentalMonitoring scans keep treatment on track wherever you are.
Adults don’t have time to take half a day off work every month for a 20-minute orthodontic check-in. Our treatment design accounts for that.
Most adult cases are aligner candidates. A meaningful number aren’t. We’ll tell you the truth at your consultation, not after you’ve committed.
Usually A Good Fit
Braces May Be Better
A wedding, a reunion, a graduation, a trip you have been waiting for. If you have a date in mind, the best time to start is as soon as you can. Here is an honest look at what is realistic depending on how much runway you have. And because Spark Clear Aligners come out in seconds, you can always take them out for the event itself.
A YEAR OR MORE OUT
Most treatment plans have room to run their full course in this window, so you can walk into your event with your results in place. At your first visit, we map the plan backward from your date, so you know where things should stand by the time it arrives.
A FEW MONTHS OUT
You may not be finished, but you will see real change, often in the front teeth that show most in photos. And since your aligners come out whenever you want, you can go without them for the event and the pictures, then pick right back up the next day.
JUST WEEKS AWAY
We will be straight with you: a few weeks is not enough to transform a smile, and we would not pretend otherwise. Your aligners stay out for the big day, and you carry on right after. Many adults also add whitening beforehand for an easy, immediate lift.
Most people won’t, and that’s the main reason adults choose them. Spark aligners are thin and clear and sit flush against the teeth. Up close, in good light, someone looking for them might catch the edges. Across a conference table, no. The more visible detail is usually the attachments, which are small tooth-colored bumps bonded to a few teeth to guide specific movements, and those get matched to your enamel shade.
Usually yes, with planning. Implants don’t move, so they’re treated as fixed points and the plan works around them. Crowns and veneers are trickier, because the attachments that guide certain movements don’t bond to porcelain the way they do to enamel. None of that rules treatment out. It means Dr. Varble needs to see what’s where before he can tell you what’s realistic, and that’s what the consultation at the Creve Coeur or St. Peters office is for.
Sometimes. Aligners combined with attachments and elastics can correct a fair range of bite issues, but not all of them, and some corrections remain more predictable with brackets. This is the question where the answer genuinely depends on the specifics of your case. If Dr. Varble thinks brackets will get you a better result, he’ll tell you that, even if you walked in asking for aligners.
They come out to eat and to drink anything other than water, then you brush and put them back in. Practically, that means some planning around lunch meetings and the morning coffee habit. Most adults describe the first couple of weeks as the adjustment, after which it stops registering. If your work involves frequent client meals, say so at the consultation. It’s a real factor in whether aligners are the right call for you.
Yes, and it isn’t optional if you want the result to hold. Teeth have a memory and they drift without retention. The most common reason an adult ends up back in treatment isn’t that the first round failed, it’s that retainer wear stopped years earlier. Dr. Varble covers the retention plan with you before you finish, not after.
