MEET DR. VARBLE

Dr. Zachary Varble

Orthodontist // Owner, Varble Orthodontics

St. Louis native. SLU-trained orthodontist with eighteen years in practice and faculty at two of the dental schools that train orthodontists in this region. At Varble Orthodontics, every clinical decision is mine, every treatment plan is mine, and every smile we build is the result of a process I’ve spent my career refining.

Note from dr. varble

Before you choose, I want you to know how I think.

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance your child’s dentist mentioned braces, and now you’re trying to figure out where to go. You’re not procrastinating. You’re being careful. That’s exactly the right instinct.

Here’s what I want you to understand about this practice before you ever walk in. I own it. Every clinical decision made here is mine, and I make it through the lens of my training, not a corporate spreadsheet. That’s becoming rare. A lot of practices in our area are quietly owned by larger groups where the numbers come first and the doctor is an employee. That’s not how we work, and your family will feel the difference.

I’ll also be honest with you about what good treatment requires. It takes what it takes. Orthodontics is a journey, and it’s a team effort between my office, your child, and you. I take my part of that seriously, and I’ll ask the same of your family. When we both show up and do our part, the results are worth it. Every time.

I treat every child who sits in my chair the way I’d want someone treating mine. That’s the whole standard. Everything else, the technology, the systems, the way we run our days, exists to live up to it.

I’d be glad to meet your family.

BACKGROUND & TRAINING

From St. Louis, by way of two of its dental schools

I’m a St. Louis native. I earned my DMD from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2006, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Then I came back home for my orthodontic residency at Saint Louis University, earning a Master of Science in Dentistry and a Certificate in Orthodontics in 2008.

At graduation, I received the JP Marshall Award, given to the resident who finishes first in the class.

SLU’s program places heavy emphasis on evidence-based clinical decision-making, and that foundation still shapes every case I treat. Eighteen years into practice, I’ve refined what I learned there, but the core principle hasn’t changed: clinical decisions should be made based on what we actually see, not on what’s convenient or default.
